Texture is key this season with French velvet, gathered chiffon, textured bouclé, washed Japanese denim and buttery leather. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Jonathan Simkhai collection without the use of customized lace updated with metallic threading and grommets. The color palette focuses on jewel-like burgundies, rich tobaccos, and midnight navies, paired with creams and blushes.

The collection plays on forms and texture; tradition and power, exploring Spain’s century-old aristocracy. Motifs of the collection are highly tailored pieces that coalesce romantic corsetry and restrictive matador uniforms, contrasted with diaphanous blouses and sublime eveningwear. Attention is drawn to the torso through carefully constructed patterns and boning, which emphasize every feminine line.

Presenting a collection that puts forms of feminine strength on display was very personal for Jonathan Simkhai this season. With women across the globe asserting their right to equality, Simkhai felt the need to create a look that would mirror the fortitude of their voice. During this time, Simkhai portrays women as a powerful force to be reckoned with.
